Working Groups are created by one or more Sub-Commissions to carry out well-defined tasks.
Their responsibilities include:
- studying a well-defined problem in order to make possible the creation of a draft proposal for a C.I.P. decision
- the introduction of knowledge and experience of their members to achieve the state of the art
- with this aim, the improvement of testing procedures and test methods required by advances in metrology and the manufacture of weapons, ammunition, and equipment, as well as, where appropriate, the development and execution of inter-laboratory tests
